boringmagazine.com vs boringmagazine.co: Which Is Which?

boringmagazine.com versus boringmagazine.co cover, checked 30 October 2026

Boringmagazine.com is the busiest of the Boring Magazine sites, but it is not the original, it is not a mirror of boringmagazine.co, and the theboringmagazine it name has no Italian website behind it.

We checked every name on 30 October 2026 against the sites’ own pages, their public post feeds, the domain registration records and live DNS lookups. Two separately run WordPress sites share one borrowed brand, and a third site, older than both, owns the name they borrow.

  • boringmagazine.com: registered in July 2024, 2,467 posts, one account credited on 2,384 of them, and still publishing almost every day.
  • boringmagazine.co: first post in January 2026, 412 posts, a separate install whose contact page sends mail to a media partner.

Watch the three names go head to head, round by round, in under two minutes.

boringmagazine.com Explained

Boringmagazine.com describes itself as “Latest News For Tech & Entertainment” in its page title. Its footer goes further: “The Boring Magazine is a knowledge hub for Measurement, Technology, Business Guides & Ideas, Latest News, Entertainment, and Celebrity Networth.”

The same footer has a copyright line that names “Theboringmagazine com” rather than its own domain, and a block of “Websites Keywords” built around that other name: theboringmagazine com, www theboringmagazine.com and the boring magazine latest. In other words, boringmagazine.com markets itself partly under a name that belongs to a different, older site.

Context. theboringmagazine.com is the oldest name in this story. Its domain was registered on 26 February 2021 and its first post, a celebrity biography, went up on 16 March 2021. That is more than three years before boringmagazine.com was registered on 30 July 2024.

So the comparison below has three players, not two: the site you searched for, its 2026 namesake on .co, and the 2021 site whose name both of them use.

Three Names on One Scorecard

Each column below is one name as readers type it. Every cell comes from the site itself, its public post feed (the WordPress interface all of these sites leave open) or a registry lookup, all checked on 30 October 2026.

Read across, the pattern is clear. The two live sites differ on every operational line, from byline to contact route, and agree only on the borrowed name. The third column is empty because there is nothing at that address.

The Order They Arrived In

Dates settle which name came first faster than any About page. These come from registry records and from each site’s oldest public post.

  1. 26 February 2021: theboringmagazine.com is registered.
  2. 16 March 2021: theboringmagazine.com publishes its first post, a biography of Zac Gallen.
  3. 30 July 2024: boringmagazine.com is registered.
  4. 18 August 2024: boringmagazine.com publishes its first post, “How Long is 5 Inches?”
  5. 21 January 2026: boringmagazine.co publishes its first post, “12 Everyday Things That are 1 Inch Long”.
  6. 2 July 2026: theboringmagazine.com publishes a page about “TheBoringMagazine.it”.
  7. 19 July 2026: theboringmagazine.it.com, another lookalike, publishes its first post.
Timeline showing when boringmagazine.com and its lookalike names first appeared

One outside claim does not fit this record. A January 2026 article on commandlinux.com says “Tech TheBoringMagazine launched in 2018”. We found no trace of any of these names before February 2021, so we could not confirm that year.

Output, Month by Month

Publishing volume is where boringmagazine.com pulls far ahead. Its public feed holds 189 posts from 2024, 1,312 from 2025 and 966 from 2026 up to 30 October.

Monthly post counts for boringmagazine com and two rival sites
  • boringmagazine.com peaked in May 2025 with 317 posts, fell to 26 in January 2026, and climbed back to 157 in October 2026, its busiest month since June 2025.
  • boringmagazine.co went from 8 posts in January 2026 to 93 in July and 82 in October, posting on 25 of the first 30 days of the month.
  • theboringmagazine.com, the 2021 original, managed 6 posts in October 2026, the last of them on 6 October, after 75 in August.

Volume is not quality, but it does show which site is actively run right now. On that measure boringmagazine.com leads clearly, boringmagazine.co is growing, and the original has slowed sharply this autumn.

Inside boringmagazine.com

What the site says about itself

The About page opens with “Welcome to Boring Magazine” and is signed “15.08.2024 / Steve Fletcher”, three days before the first post went up. The team page lists four people:

  • Steve Fletcher, “Head of Chief Editor”
  • Neha, “Editor In Business”
  • Cristian July, “Editor In News”
  • Ray Banks, “Editor In Tech”

The contact page still reflects the site’s first niche: “we don’t just measure objects; we measure our success by your satisfaction.” The terms page names the company as “Boring Magazine, North East Ham, LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM”.

Only one byline appears in the public post feed, Jhonkar Bura, and its public username is “neha”, which matches the Editor In Business above. The other three names never appear as authors. We could not confirm who any of these people are outside the site.

Inside boringmagazine.co

Boringmagazine.co is a younger, smaller site with its own look. Its home page title is “Boring Magazine | Boringmagazine.co”, and its meta description reads: “The Boring Magazine (aka theboringmagazine com) is a reliable source for Business, Technology, Latest News, Measurement, Lifestyle, Gaming, and Entertainment.”

  • Bylines: “Kevin” on 395 posts and “neha” on 17.
  • About Us, dated 4 February 2026: “Explaining familiar things in a way that finally makes sense”.
  • Contact Us, updated 11 May 2026: readers are told to reach its “media patner ZetRank” (spelling as published) at a zetrank.com sales address.
  • Menu items named after the older brand: “Tech TheBoringMagazine” and “The Boring Magazine Latest”.

Like boringmagazine.com, it opened with measurement listicles: several inch guides went up a minute apart on 21 January 2026. Since then it has spread into business, pets, gaming, travel and fashion, and it posted again on 30 October 2026.

Mirror, Rebrand or Lookalike

A mirror would copy the same posts. A rebrand would retire the old address. Neither fits what we found when we lined up both post feeds.

TestResult
Same posts? No. 2 shared headlines across 2,467 and 412 posts
Same software and theme? No. A custom “boringmagazine” theme vs Newsify with Elementor
Same hosting? No. An OVH server vs Cloudflare
Same bylines? No. Jhonkar Bura vs Kevin
Old address retired? No. Both published new posts on 30 October 2026
Same first niche?Yes. Both started with inch-length guides
Same borrowed name?Yes. Both point to “theboringmagazine com”

The two shared headlines fit the pattern of articles placed on several sites, not of one owner. “Why Some Landscape Lighting Plans Feel Harsh Even With Good Fixtures” ran on both on 29 July 2026 with nearly identical text. A GEO agencies headline ran on both with different text.

One small overlap remains: both sites have an author account that uses the name “neha”. A shared first name proves nothing, and we found no record linking the two sites’ owners. On the evidence, they are separate lookalikes trading on the same older name.

The theboringmagazine it Puzzle

Readers who type theboringmagazine it may expect an Italian site at theboringmagazine.it. On 30 October 2026 that domain returned no DNS record from either Google’s or Cloudflare’s public resolvers, and neither did its www version. There is no site there to visit.

The phrase makes more sense in English. theboringmagazine.com’s About page says “We create celebrity, entertainment, and IT News”, it runs an “IT and Technology” category with 49 posts, and its home page source carries the keywords “theboringmagazine it” and “theboringmagazine it and technologies”. boringmagazine.co uses the same reading in a February 2026 page about “theboringmagazine IT content”.

Heads up. On 2 July 2026 theboringmagazine.com published “Inside TheBoringMagazine.it: What It Is, Why It Matters, And How To Use It in 2026”. It says “Editors update it weekly” and that the site “accepts pitches via a clear submissions page”. We could not find the site that page describes, because the .it address does not resolve.

A separate site, theboringmagazine.it.com, also turns up for this search: a 24-post WordPress blog that started on 19 July 2026. It is not an Italian domain and not the 2021 original.

boringmagazine.com news in October 2026

For anyone following boringmagazine.com news, the recent record is about volume, not announcements. We found no post or page announcing a change of owner, staff or domain.

The News section itself is small and loosely named. For dated updates about the site, the post feed tells you more than the News label.

Note the no-dot form wwwtheboringmagazine.com. It is a different domain from www.theboringmagazine.com, and its contact block lists “Street Name, NY 38954”, which reads as template text rather than an address.

Pages That Borrow the Name

The search results for these names are crowded, and most of the crowd is not the magazines themselves. Searches we ran on 30 October 2026 returned pages hosted on unrelated university and company subdomains, with titles such as “The Boring Magazine: Your Ultimate Guide To Uncovering The Unseen”.

  • None of the pages we opened dated the sites, compared the domains or checked the .it name.
  • theboringmagazine.com adds to the noise itself: 84 of its post titles contain the word “boring”, many about its own name and typo variants.
  • The 2018 launch year quoted on commandlinux.com does not match any record we found.

When a result talks about “The Boring Magazine” without naming a domain, treat it as commentary about a name, not as a source on any of these sites.

Straight Answers for Puzzled Searchers

Is boringmagazine com the same site as theboringmagazine.com?

No. boringmagazine com is simply how many people type boringmagazine.com, a domain registered in July 2024. theboringmagazine.com is a different domain from February 2021, with different software, categories and authors, even though boringmagazine.com’s footer uses its name.

Is boringmagazine.co a copy of boringmagazine.com?

Not in the mirror sense. It runs on a different theme and host, with different authors, and shares 2 headlines out of hundreds of posts. It does use the same “Boring Magazine” name and the same older brand in its description.

Does theboringmagazine it lead to a real Italian site?

Not as of 30 October 2026. The .it domain has no DNS record. The phrase matches theboringmagazine.com’s IT coverage, and a separate site at theboringmagazine.it.com also uses it.

Who runs boringmagazine.com?

The site names Steve Fletcher as its chief editor and a company called Boring Magazine in North East Ham, London. The public registry record shows only the registrar, NameCheap. The site gives no company number, and we found no outside profile that confirms the people it names.

The Verdict, Name by Name

Boringmagazine.com is a real, busy, separately run general blog, launched in 2024 under a name that borrows an older site’s brand. It is not the original Boring Magazine, not a mirror of the .co, and not connected to any Italian site.

  • theboringmagazine.com is the original, from 2021. Use it if you want the celebrity biographies and IT pieces the name first stood for.
  • boringmagazine.com is the 2024 general blog with the most posts. Use it when a link or citation names this exact domain.
  • boringmagazine.co is a separate 2026 site with the same name. Treat it as its own publication.
  • theboringmagazine it is a search phrase, not a site. Skip theboringmagazine.it.com if you meant the original.

Whichever one you open, type the full domain rather than clicking a result titled “The Boring Magazine”. The names are close enough that only the address tells you which site you are on.
